The Risk

The Risk

Many families have meaningful wealth and insufficient liquidity.
Under the OBBA, the federal estate tax exemption is $15M per person ($30M for married couples). Amounts above that threshold are generally subject to a 40% federal estate tax, plus potential state taxes.
The issue is not exposure. It’s cash.
Businesses and real estate do not sell on a timetable that matches the IRS. Heirs can inherit valuable assets and still be forced into sales under pressure.
